Hello Everyone, I am a new member to this website, but not a new Chexxfan player. Me and my friend Paul Horvath will be attending the tournament in Burlington. I believe it is in April, 2009. I ran into an old friend (or rival), Woj, and he told me about this event. How do I find out all the information, addresses, tournament rules etc... Looking forward to hearing from anyone with this information. Hopefully me, Woj, and Paul will put Buffalo back on the Bubble Bot map. Thanks in advance. Woj, it was nice talking to you. Hope to play you again real soon !!! Ed Miller

Hi Ed:
I am running the tournament in Burlington, NJ, Saturday April 18th, 2009. Here is a copy of the information from one of my flyers:
SUPER CHEXX BUBBLE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
When: Saturday April 18th, 2009 Where: Burlington, NJ (exit #5 NJ Turnpike, exit #47-A Interstate #295) Time: 11:00am registration/warm-up; 11:30am start time Cost: $20/player, includes food and beverages (beer, soda, water, etc.)
Contact: John – 609-230-9525
This is the first of 2 planned tournaments in New Jersey in 2009. Here’s how the Tournament will work:
The tournament will be played on 4 Super Chexx tables. The player list will be limited to 24 players so that everyone gets to play several games (counting doubles, players can expect to play a minimum of 10 games per player, and possibly many more depending on advancement in the tournament). Here is a brief description of the tournament format:
- Limited Doubles play as a “warm-up” (single game, double elimination format) - Singles Play = Pool play (approx. 5-8 games each per player, depending on tournament turnout) - After Pool play, players will be seeded for a "knock-down" double-elimination format tournament, 3 game series each (may be modified to 3 game series in the winner’s bracket and single games in the loser’s bracket, based in player turnout) - Trophies for the winner’s of A, B, and C flights, and 2nd and 3rd in A flight - If possible, pool placement will be “team format” – South Jersey Bubble Hockey League (S.J.B.H.L.) members vs the rest of the field
Tournament sign-up is on a first come, first served basis, so if interested contact John today via email @njbubblehockey@verizon.net!
Also, check out the New Jersey Bubble Hockey Association/South Jersey Bubble Hockey League (S.J.B.H.L.) website to register and for more updated info – www.njbubblehockey.org
Any questions, contact John at 609-230-9525.
A player list will be posted in the next few days, and the rules are listed below - Bubble on!

TOURNAMENT RULES
Burlington “IceHouse” Invitational – April 18, 2009
The Entry Fee is $20 per player and covers all game play. Tournament check-in and table practice time are from 11:00–11:30pm, with game play to start promptly at 11:30pm. Game play be a round robin format, followed by a “knock-down” double elimination tournament.
1. Each game lasts approximately 5 minutes.
2. The puck must stay in the net to count as a goal.
3. A 7 second rule applies at all times during play – the team with control of the puck must make an offense move within 7 seconds or a penalty may be called. The penalty results in loss of possession. In short, try to keep the action moving – deliberate slow-down tactics or stalling will not be permitted.
4. “2 touch rule” is in effect – no goal may be scored unless the puck has touched 2 players first. The players may be from either team, but the goalie does not count as another player! If a goal is scored prior to this occurring, or if the puck pops directly into the net off the face-off, the player/team that scored the non-legal goal must immediately allow a goal to be scored in their own net to “even up” the score. ***If a non-legal goal determines the outcome of a game, the point must be replayed.
5. If a team is ahead by 2 or more goals at the end of regulation, the game is considered over and the result final. Deposit the puck in a net and let the next game begin.
6. “Shaking” the goalie back and forth vigorously, excessive spinning of players, or otherwise manipulating the ice surface in an attempt to disrupt control of the puck from the opposing player is strictly prohibited. The penalty is loss of possession for the first infraction, a penalty shot from the center for subsequent infractions.
7. Any game malfunctions during play will result in the restart of the game from the beginning, unless both players agree during the game to resolve the issue and play on to completion. An example of a malfunction could be an incorrect scoreboard reading, loss of power, etc.
8. Roughing the game or extreme poor sportsmanship during play will result in forfeit of a games or games; repeated violations will result in ejection from the tournament. This will be strictly enforced – these tables are privately owned and any actions that could result in damage to the game or games will not be tolerated.
9. John has final say on all questions, rules, or disputes.

Looking forward to seeing my Bubble Brethren at the Icehouse on April 18th . . . my brother and I had a great time the last time we visited John and the South Jersey players--many dust--ups under the dome on that day.
So how is that new game you got (JG?) last month??? I'm sure you got it nice and slick . . . .
I'd like to prepare for the perils of the bubble beforehand . . . who's up for some practice??? I live in Queens NY and don't mind taking some lumps so long as I am improving my game--Perhaps a visit or two to the Ice House on league dates is the best thing.
I always learn so much from you "Boffins of the The Bubble down in Burlington." aloha deathtoespn

Sorry Al (and everyone) - was on vacation the past few days. Ironically, I just updated it a few minutes ago (you think Jimmy was going to let me sit on that - yeah, right!!! ). "thefuture" cracks the top 10 - anyone have issue with that?!? "thefuture" says bring it on - he'll play anyone, anywhere, anytime! He is gunning for my league's title (think Bill Brooks and I are going down without a fight in the SJBHL?!? And Brian and Dan have vowed that Jimmy won't even get a 3rd Place league trophy!), and he's looking for redemption in Buffalo '10 - "can't you hear "thefuture" knocking down the door?"
