Just ordered a new light for the dome. I've read a bit about converting from regular lights to LEDs and Darerock filled in the rest. No converting necessary (unless you're trying to use polarized LEDS), just order non-polarized and it's plug and play. I ordered the 'cool' white, it's a cooler blue based as opposed to the 'warm' whites which are yellow based. Much brighter and very little heat. The original light is a 1683 but you can use 1156 as a replacement. www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/....6-pcb-lamp/502/

Thanks! I've been posting tons of pictures, I can't figure out why I couldn't get that one to post. The size was fine, I kept is smaller than the max. Oh well, it's in here now.

Still not sure how it's plug and play....isn't the original bulb a fluorescent two prong?

If have an original Chexx and I took out the old bulbs. On the side they have the bulb type #1156. I did a search on Amazon and a bunch of options come up. I purchased the bulb at the link below and it worked great. Good luck!
