I know this is already covered but I checked my chexx and noticed that it has the fluorescent tube. The 1156 led bulb will not fit. Anyone do a led mod with this particular bulb?

Good day Would that replacement light be a perfect replacement? Would it be brighter then the lighting that is already in the game? It’s a 9w LED?

Wow! Impressive.Despite the detail you put into the tutorial, I don't think I have the know-how to do the mod. I'll go with the LED bulb replacement for now and see how that looks.
Thanks!

Good day Would that replacement light be a perfect replacement? Would it be brighter then the lighting that is already in the game? It’s a 9w LED? I think the main thing you have to watch for is the length of the bulb. I was about to get the bigger one as well but realized that it likely will not fit in the scoreboard. The specs of the stock fluorescent bulb suggest that it is around 5.25" (if I remember correctly). When I look at the lamp, there is about 3/4" room left so you may possibly be able to get away with a 6" led lamp but don't quote me on that. I'm not sure of the output of the stock fluorescent bulb so I can't even judge which will be brighter. I'm going more for the "cool white" look as opposed to the stock yellow. Any extra light would just be a bonus. I ordered a 6000k 5" 5w led. It's coming from China so may be a while before I report back.

Electricsmooth beat me to it... It's a 9w equivalent, it's only drawing 3.5w. That one would not be as bright. If you get the correct base the only other thing you need to determine is if the bulb will be too long to fit in the scoreboard. I believe this is what comes in the game. PL-S base, also listed as G23, 7 watt, 5.34 in long. It puts out 400 lumen, the linked one only creates 300. www.1000bulbs.com/product/4602/FC07-G2327P.html

As much as I like to build things I don’t know electrical that well.. Last thing I want to do is blow my board because I didn’t do it right.. I’m more of a plug and play when it comes to playing with electricity. I think I’ll order the same one.

So it finally came in from China (55 days or something like that). It fits and is a simple plug n play replacement. In terms of brightness, I would say that it is about the same as the original. It does have the "cool white" effect (white with a slight bluish tint) which makes the ice look realistic. The original warm white bulb added a yellowish tinge to the ice.
Overall, I'm satisfied. I was going to post a picture but the colours are way off and look nothing like it does in real life.
