Hello, I have a Superchexx 88-93 version US vs Can. All works fine except the sound is constant garbled, sounds like the same syllable repeated over and over. The anthem and boo sounds do not work, however the game plays fine. I did ohm out the shot, goal and boo buttons in case they were shorted. I also can unplug the ribbon cable at the scoreboard connection and the garbled noise is still there. I do notice the sticker has come off the sound chip and I see the erase window is exposed. Ive also ejected & reseated the sound chip. I’ll possibly find a new sound chip unless someone else has any ideas or suggestions. ADDED: Ive had this game since the mid90's and it worked fine. I had it garage stored from 2013-until now, and have this problem. I also notice some repairwork on the main board to the 6800uF caps and the LM340T12 x-sistor. I also do not have original schematics, I believe this is a 2nd generation main board with the 4 DIP switches on 1 module in the lower right corner. if anyone has the original schematics for this version to share I would appreciate that. I wonder if the sound chip could be corrupted?

Might be unrelated, but I have a KIXX that some sounds were scratchy/staticky. Its motherboard hosted a cluster of chips for audio samples. I was able to isolate specific chips for the particular failing sounds by running game without each chip at a time. I was fortunate enough to acquire old loose chips from ICE that they had lying around to correct issue. You might be on correct path of requiring a replacement sound chip.
