Hey guys thanks for coming out and playing! We had a total of 40 players at this event, a beautiful venue at New Era HQ, and 3 fresh games tuned up by ICE. What more could you ask for!
Who played? Well the Davis brothers game in from Ct, guys from Canada ( we are officially international now! ) and the top talent from the Buffalo area to boot.
Top Champion was, you guessed it, Jeremy Davis! Jeremy had all of game working but my partner from the 99 BL finals John Derubes didn't make it easy on him. They each split a game and for the last one Jeremy won it out. The other player in the round robin was from Buffalo too, ( sorry I did not get his name ), but he played well also.
My bracket was tough as well. It included Doug Davis aka monkey jr, who took me to the wood shed for a beating. Well it was not that bad but it still stings. Good playing Dougy!
Jeremy won a signed Campbell stick, Sabres tickets to the box and a nice gift certificate to New Era. Sweet!
Thanks to Jennifer and my bud Gerry at New Era for putting this on. It was smooth and a good time for all the players. They mentioned that they might have a tourny in their Toronto store in the future. I will let you know when it becomes official. It also sounds like due to the great turn out we had that this could happen again next year in Buffalo, maybe doubles. Keep an eye out for it
Thanks again to all of my buds who showed up. Johnny, Tony, Eric, Chris, Chuck, Pete, Dan, Dave, and John from ICE. I am sorry if I did not mention everyone but I met a some new bubbler's as well. Also thanks to our friends from the North. Rock on team Canada!
Up coming tournys in Buffalo include, Jack Astor's and Pearl street brewery. Check the previous posts for times and locations.

Woj & Company, It sounds like the tourney yesterday was pretty successful. Can you get some pics put up and maybe some stats to see the Davis Domination!! I'm glad to see that we've finally had another big bubble hockey event out there in Western NY and ICE was involved...always nice when they support these events. You can e-mail me pics and stats and I'll link them on my new Links page as well as info for any other tournaments that are coming up. Since I am hosting it on my ISP's servers, I can keep this site up permanently. Keep bubblin Ruf-dawg

New Era Cap has decided to run another tournament in Toronto as well as Buffalo.
I am wondering if anyone in the Toronto area would help run this event. I helped in Buffalo and did not have to do much the day of the event. A few questions came up on the rules but they were easily resolved. Please let me know. The event will take place in Jan- Feb in their store. Thanks

Sweet, a Saturday - I'm going to try to make that! I'm on vacation the week before, but hopefully I can swing it with work. I'd like to come up that Thursday or Friday night and check out the sights. I'll try to drum up some bubblers from down here in NJ/PA, too. Thanks Woj, and please keep posting info to keep the spark going.

Woj:
Couple of quick questions:
1) Is it single elimination in doubles and singles? 2) Is there an entry fee, and how much/when do we pay? 3) Will there be an opportunity to play on the tables Friday night 02/20/09? 4) How many tables will be in use at the tourney? 5) Any beer specials? We all know by now JG needs his goon juice! 6) Looks like we may have multiple players from my league (South Jersey Bubble Hockey League) coming up to Buffalo (at least 3 for sure and maybe a couple more, too) - is there a cap on the number of players and when do you need a definite commitment?
Thanks again for keeping the bubble going!

Hey JG,
1- It will be best of 3 for both singles and doubles. 2- $10.00 gets you in the tourney- it is a charity event. All proceeds go to Ryan Millers Steadfast foundation. 3- You can play at my house on Friday night. I have 2 tables. 4- 3 Tables for the Tourney 5- Sorry no beer, this is a non alcohol promoted event. 6- We are thinking 40 players total. Let me know how many will attend and I will sign you up. 7- Prizes are a one time New Era bubble hockey champion hat, sabres stick, Sabre tickets, etc.
Thanks, and look forward to seeing my buds from my home state NJ! Woj
