Hey guys,
I have read tons of threads and I am ready to paint my players, but I can not decide what I want to do.
Since I am in Dallas, part of me has thought of going with the Dallas Stars Vs the REd Wings, and Part of me has thought about painting the North Stars. Then there is the thought of hand picking players from the league and paitning them.
The only problem I think I have is that I think that I will be a little picky that the colors I use match to the team(s) So for those of you who have painted do you have suggestions on what I should paint and how I can pick the right colors the first time?
Thanks again for your help.

It's all a matter of personal preference. I like the idea of the North Stars because it's Old School NHL, I would like to see maybe the Rockies and the Jets too. When I did the Canadiens and the Red Wings I had no affiliation to the teams but I wanted two of the original six teams so I picked those teams. Plus, they were going in the Original Chexx game I had at the time so I thought it was fitting. As for the color selection, before I paint I go online and look at the jersey/uniform I want to do and then I get a good look at the color scheme and print it out. Take it to the Hobby Shop/Paint Store and try to find the colors that are the best match. They may not be 100% perfect but you can certainly get pretty close. Good Luck and be sure to post some photos when you are done.

I think the paint job is excellent, especially on the tricky parts like the multiple-stripe Sabers socks.
My only suggestions would be to use flat paints and a flat coating spray to take the shine down. Of course, that might be the flash of the camera making them look shiny.
The other thing I would say is to drop some outlines in on the Buffalo goalie to keep all the white from blending together on his pads and gloves. The black part of his pants you could outline on top of the pads. Just a little thin stripe to each would really set the pads/gloves apart.
Those are minor things. Otherwise, I think they look great!

Any one know where I can get those little beer stickers he put on the boards? User hasn't logged in since November so not sure if he will get this.
Thanks

I did something similar with two of my tables, and did it the old fashioned way - drank a bunch of different beers and peeled the little labels off the top of the bottles and spray-adhesived (I think I just made up a word) them to the sideboards. Looks good, and was a lot of fun to do (the drinking part anyway)!

Looks great, except you spelled "SABRES" wrong on the scoreboard.

I would suggest not painting the sticks on any custom jobs. Painting them brown will seem cool and look great in the beginning, mbut they will chip and look like hell almost immediately. You will also have part chips/flecks all over your ice surface and they are a pain to keep cleaning up. Ask me how I know.....
