Has anyone built a platform to raise the game? I want to order an NHL Super Chexx but I'm 6' 4". When I tested a game out yesterday I noticed I had to bend over to see the opposing net. I'd prefer not to have back injuries from this game!
Any insight or thoughts on building a safe and attractive platform would be appreciated.
thanks

I've raised my game by four inches by building a platform to set it on.
The inside square of the platform is made of 2x4s, made just slightly larger then the base of the game, with cross pieces for support. That frame is then screwed to a 2x6 outer frame that surrounds the base and keeps the game from moving. I wrapped the 2x6 frame in leather for a nice look before attaching the inner frame, which I should mention is screwed to the outer frame 1/2 inch off the floor.
It works great and my taller buddies love it. My steady playing partner is 6'4". He used to complain about a sore back after playing, but not anymore. I myself am 5'10", and the new height works just fine for me too.

If you don't want to build something, a pallet works pretty well. That's what I've been using and it's great for all but the shortest players. Plus, if you're in a garage with a pallet jack, it makes it easy to move the game with one person.
