I have a dome that is in good condition but it sat outside and got yellowed by the sun. Has anyone ever tried using a headlight lens restoration kit on it? I was looking into them and they seem to work fairly well on headlights. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried it on a dome.
Ive seem alot of comment about Plexus but that seems to just take care of scratches and not the yellowing.

i actually bought the 3M headlight repair kit and plexus and did half the dome so far and it is coming out amazing. Before it was pretty fogging and very yellow and now the one half has a little haze but it much clearer then before and is no longer yellow. I will have to take some pics and post it.
It is very time consuming but alot better then spending the 500 bucks for a new dome from ICE

as a side note around scratches, I did just get the Novus Scratch Remove #2 and #3. Does indeed do a great job of getting rid of scratches. Requires a lot of elbow grease. Also I've been working on a dot scratch as well a wide deep scratch with no luck yet. Straight scratches and scuffs seem to come out though (just bought a used chexx that requires a little fixing up).
For shining up afterward I've been using pledge and it does a nice job of making the dome shiny...might make it too shiny actually, but purdy.

Has anybody used a Heat Gun? I have seen this work on other plexiglass applications?

Shaners a heat gun might work to speed up the friction process with polish. But what I'd suggest, (done this many times in the auto industry myself) is take your polish of choice and spread by hand in a circular motion, and then remove the polish with an orbital buffer. You can probably rent one from home depot if you dont want to buy one. But they are very hand to have, plus you can wax your vehicle with them.
I'll give you another tip you can try at your own risk, wetsand plexiglass with 1500 grit sand paper, keep it wet! But sand it pretty aggresively, after you sand it, it will looked trashed, you will be scared. But this is where you need an orbital buffer, hand polishing will NOT work. Get some polish with medium or low grit, and polish firmly with the buffer, and watch that dome look brand new! Done this many times with car headlights too, results will blow your mind!
