I just bought an early 80s Chexx and the top portion is not mounted to the base. I have looked under there and can't even see how the top could even be secured to the base. There are no bolts, brackets or anything. I am considering making a bracket myself. Is it possible my machine is missing something?
Can someone please post a picture of how there base is secured to the top on an early 80s unit.
Thanks, Marc

You should be able to go to the ICE website and have a look at the game manual, which clearly shows you under game set-up.

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to help someone disassemble his Chexx. I didn't find an answer in the '83 manual. (which was also pretty hard to find.) Can someone please tell me how to do this? When the playing surface is removed, I can see the tips of bolts with washers, but they don't budge from the top. I'm sure they get removed from the bottom, but they aren't visible anywhere underneath by the base.

racki- you need to open the coin box door and on the other side the heatsink door (where the moog board is attached). Once you do this put your arm in and, one at a time, aim for each corner and you should feel the bolt nut - there are a total of 4. Unscrew each of them and the base will lift right up- good luck.

Thanks Jp2! We finally figured it out once we broke into the locked cabinet doors. He didn't have the keys.
