Has anyone on here ever had any experience with using automotive urethane clear coat to finish the ice surface? I'm a custom painter and am tempted to try it out but not sure if it will slow the playing surface down, or possibly speed it up too much
The characteristics of 2 part clear will look so much like real ice...will scratch over time like real ice too...may be kind of cool?!
Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I would think that you might increase friction because it might increase grip. A newly refinished hardwood floor looks like it is a nice surface to slide across, but it increases shoe grip. You might get the same effect. But if you use something like plexus afterwards, that might reduce friction. You can always replace the ice surface if you mess it up.

You're right...that's a good call I'll just buy a new ice surface...I'm sure the ICE guys knew what they're doing when they created the ice haha
