Hi there , i am from Germany and own a few original chexx games. Since i was a kid and played them the first time i wanted them so badly. Now i own 4 of them ... Right now i restore and modify some of them. Even try to polish a dome that is badly scratched... On one Scorboard the LED Displays are missing some segments. Is it the Display itself or the ICs? I know that there are 3 ICs per Single Display but they all look ok to me. So if i want to change the LED Displays what kind of Displays do i need. I have the Parts List and it says: DISPLAY LED 2 CHAR NUMERIC .56 CH I know that .56 is the size, but what the heck is CH Is it Common Cathode or Common Anode?? I dont want to destroy the ICs if i out on the wrong Display. Thank you. Cheers slickrick

--- SOLVED ---
I found out that it is CA (Common Anode). I ordered the new displays. I will report if they are working. If not it´s the IC and i will also change them.
Cheers

Guten tag! I'm starting to debug my scoreboards, and I'm curious what the solution was for you- I've read that the 74LS164N chips are unreliable, and was tempted to start there.
Thanks! RJ
