Hey there gang,
Well my original Chexx is just about done with the restoration. I wanted a set of painted USA vs. Russia teams and I couldn't find anyone that was selling them that was in my price range. So I found a guy on eBay that was selling a box full players and goalies at a price I couldn't pass up. I figured I would paint them my self, and man what a job. It is super fun painting these guys but man it sucks up some major time. After I did some researching I used Testors model paint and I used 3 coats of paint and I found a decal sheet that I can use my regular printer to make the logos numbers and names. once I figure out what to do about the base of the hockey stick I'm going to hit it with 3 more coats of clear coat. as I get team USA done ill take pictures and share. any ideas on the base of the hockey stick? I keep reading that the paint flakes and chips so I'm not sure on what to use, any ideas would be great.

Great job. It is a time consuming task, no question. I coated mine with clear coat but they still chipped a little over time. Im currently touching them up. I dremeled the helmet off a few players then used some automobile bondo putty to make hair..... for Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howie, Eddie Shore, and Guy LaFleur. I did the same for the the entire slap shot cast, although the Hanson Brother glasses I just painted on. Good Work!

Man I'd love to see pics of the flowing hair. Now that's time consuming.
