As far as I know, Al is it. I definitely can't make it - a friend is getting married that Saturday. Just a reminder to everyone - if you win the Del Val you get a free berth to the Nationals (a $60 value), in addition to our other giveaways and trophies.
As for recipes for Monkeys...bananas are always a good start. Simmer slowly in a nice puree. And add beer - lots of beer in the basting, though maybe a nice Fresca for "Jr." Don't want him starting any bad habits.
Perhaps I should change the brackets and have a Team Done/Team Monkey grudge match?!?!?! Any takers? Any one else want to call out another player or team? I can try to make it happen, but my first bracket sort is to try to keep guys who always play each other (my league guys, the Boston boys, guys who register together) out of the same bracket. I also try to keep doubles team members out of the same bracket. But I'll do what I can to accommodate everyone.

as for the whole team monkey vs "done" matchup. i Think we get enough of a matchup against eachother at home. we will just see them in the finals (if we both make it there) That way I don't have to give my brother an automatic loss in the round robin. Can't wait for the tourney, don't forget to bring some extra players. thanks

OK....the list keeps on growing..We are now up to 34 players..possibly even 35 as I am waiting to hear about one more potential bubbler. We are almost at the 36 player limit. This is set to be a great time with the field at the maximum number of 36. If anyone else plans to attend please contact myself or JG ASAP. Once again..I'm sure JG will be updating the player list later tonight... Only 3 days left ......

Right now, only the singles champ of "A" flight gets the free berth to the Nationals. I mentioned getting one for the "A" flight doubles winners too but it never went anywhere. I will ask again after the tournament and try to swing that.

Thanks to all of you who have registered but we have reached the maximum player number of 36 so the player registration is now closed. If you are still interested in attending please contact me or JG. Of course everyone is still welcome to stop by as we hope to keep a few tables active after the tourney is over so there will be plenty of "bubblin" going on until late in the night/early morning.. And the UFC will also be on all of the TV's throughout the bar. See you all on Saturday !

Sadly, "Tardy" is right - the Del Val Classic is officially full and now closed. 36 players are in. In fact, sadly we've had to turn several people away these past few days, and still others are on "stand-by" in case of a late cancellation or 2. We had to cap the player # at 36 due to space constraints at the tournament location - those of you attending will see right away what we mean and hopefully will agree that we made the right call. In fact, squeezing 36 guys in the place along with 6 chexx tables will be quite a feat - I hope we can manage. So all apologies to anyone we had to say "no" to...
Thank you to everyone who has signed up, everyone who has expressed interested, all the positive feedback about this event and other events we've run (NJBHC, Burl. Bubble Classic, etc.), and the growing interest in bubble hockey nationwide. "Tardy" and myself promise to keep doing these big tournaments at least 2x per year (1 in NJ and 1 in PA) unless we suddenly get smart and realize what a stupefying amount of time and mental energy it takes to pull these things off, so if you missed out this time sign up early next time!!! And support the National Championships if you can get yourself to St. Louis.
Full tournament details will follow next week, and maybe pictures too. Thanks again everyone.
