[glow=red,2,300]Week #3 results from the South Jersey Bubble Hockey League[/glow]:
John Gaffney - 14 wins, 2 losses, 73 goals scored, 42 allowed Bill Brooks - 12 wins, 4 losses, 73 and 42 also Brian Nelson - 8 wins, 8 losses, 54 and 58 Chris "Monkey" Bleistine - 5 wins, 10 losses, 46 and 63 Jim Bernard - 1 win, 15 losses, 35 and 76
The competition as always was fast and furious (though I'm sure nothing like JORD76 is used too - pretty tame by his standards). John, Bill, Brian, and Jimmy will be at the KONE and the Del Val Classic (hopefully with Monkey in tow at the Del Val). Hope to see you all there...

Just a shout out to my fellow SJ Bubble Hockey League guys. Me, Jim Bernard, Bill Brooks, and Brian Nelson attended the KONE and the League represented very well. The doubles teams of me and JB and the "Killer Bees" (Brian and Bill) both advanced into "A" Flight, a very good showing considering the outstanding quality of play and the fact that we never play doubles in the League. In Singles, Bill and I both won our brackets with 4-0 records to be seeded #2 and #3 overall in the tournament. I managed to win a series before losing to eventual "runner-up" finisher Tim Leahy. Bill unexpectedly got bounced into "B" flight after an early loss in "A" flight, but then went on to win the "B" flight championship - great job by Bill. And he was the one who eliminated Jimmy and Brian along the way (Brian finished 3rd in "B" flight), so overall a more than decent showing by the SJBHL against the best of the best.
***I will have to give myself some props - Al Jennings won the "A" flight singles (listening JORD76?), and he only lost 1 singles match the whole day - to me in round robin, 5-2. This KONE was my personal best in Singles, and I've got a long way to go to be in the class with some of these guys. Ears wide open JORD76? There's a whole world out there waiting for you - why not check out the Del Val Classic October 21rst?

Jord76 Karl Malone, who¡¦s that? I could care less about basketball. I¡¦m a 5¡¦9¡¨ white guy who used to like to play hockey and punch people in the mouth, not interested in basketball! And as for Utah 2002, yea I remember that Gold medal game because I won the Budlight 2002 Gold medal challenge (that was a huge 10 day bubblehockey tournament, just an FYI buddy) and received free tickets to that game, so you might have seen me on TV while you where back home in junior high watching that game. But you¡¦re right, the superstars from Canada did take the gold. Awesome talent and players--„³ you ought to take some pointers from those Canadian superstars (the Great one and Mario) who bye the way never talked trash, they just put up. That¡¦s why we all respect them. But how about you? Alright them, enough from me, practice up buddy-„³good luck at the Del Val classic 2. Surely if you went to NJ to play Bob Young, you¡¦ll make the trip back for the Del Classic, right. And Congrats Al, you da man!!!!! When someone gets the chance, I¡¦d love to hear how Kenny, Jeremy, Scott and the other great players did. Chow!

Sweet Woj - got it and it looks great! I think we'll defintely be able to use it. Thanks again! Sorry you can't make it to the Del Val , though that does open up some trophy possibilities now that one of the heavy hitters is out of the lineup - who wants in? Only 3 weeks left until tourney time...

League Tournament results:
5 players made the season-ending tournament - Bill, me, Brian, "Monkey" and Jimmy. After 2 rounds of "knockdown" series, the final seedings were established - Bill, me, Brian, Jimmy, "Monkey."
Bill had a bye and got the winner of Jimmy and Monkey. Monkey prevailed in a spirited 3 games series. Monkey then met Bill and was beaten 2-0. I faced Brian and we battled over 3 games before I escaped in the 3rd game 3-1. In an upset, I then sent Bill to the loser's bracket, winning a 3 game series with an 8-5 game 3 triumph. In the loser's bracket, Brian beat Jimmy 2 games to 1, including a 4-2 o/t slugfest in game 3. Brian next dispatched of poor Monkey 10-2 and 7-3, though to be fair Monkey was quite intoxicated by this point. Brian met Bill in the loser's bracket finals and was beaten in 2 games. Bill and I met for the championsip. He beat me in a 3 game series 6-4, 3-4, 6-4 in games that were as close as the score indicated. We then had to play another 3 game "if" series. Another 3 game series ensued, with Bill again winning 5-3, 5-7, and a decisive 8-3. Congrats to Bill, and hats off to all the league players for another great time. I look forward to hosting again in Jan. '07. We may have an influx of new blood coming our way, good guys with some game...
