Hey guys, thanks for everyone who attended this event. I hope you all had a good time. I know I did. Made new friends, learned some new moves, all in a sweet venue at New Era. What more could you ask for. Well down to business. Al Jennings won 1st overall. Al's kung fu is strong, he went undefeated all day. I had a lead on him in the first game but I just could not keep up. Truly an amazing player. He wowed the crowd Woj- second place. Lost to Al in the finals 0-2. Considering all the great players that attended I was stoked to make to the final 4. Bill Brooks- 3rd place. Bill had the toughest bracket going. He played through all of it to win 3rd. Super tough player but the nicest guy you will ever meet. JG- took 4th to Bill. Played tough all day but fell a few pucks short at the end. Also had a tough bracket but good enough to make the final four. Nice work JG! Also special thanks goes out to all who made it. The guys from Clever Method, Dan G and company played great as well. We plan to have a tourney between the FP guys and them soon. Jason and Jordan from Toronto- Team Canada will be proud. Did not get a chance to play Jordan but got to play Jason. His game is good, a guy to look out for. New Era wants to have a tourney in thier Toronto store. Look for it here. The Young guns from Pi Lambda Phi- Thanks for cheering us on and keep practicing - I think Frizzy's on Allen has a game, get there an play. My future son in law- Jimmy Swartz- amazing skills for only playing for a year or so. Young gun- look out old dudes - the "future" approaches. The Marv H family. The youngest gave me a coronary in game 2, man he is fast. Took me to overtime. Definitely a force to reckon with the upcoming events. Go Leafs! All my buds from Buffalo- Tony E ( the toughest dood I know ), Pete and Chuck, always a force- played them ever year in the Bud light finals. Brian U- playing you in bubble tonight at Vinny's! Dave and family for the cheers. Last but not least Kelli, Cal, and my bud Gerry from New Era cap. Thanks for an amazing tournament. Truly top shelf all the way. The give away hat to all is worth a million to me. Thanks for all you do and what you give to the bubble hockey and the city of Buffalo. New Era cap- the premier cap of the planet and right in our back yards! Amazing!

Woj, you forgot to thank one person - Woj!!! This was a top notch event all the way, and would never have come together without "the Woj." New Era did a great job, and were remarkably generous - for a paltry $10 entry fee (which went to a charity, by the way), players got:
- pizza, Red Bull, and waters all day; - there were player bags with discounts at New Era and SWEET custom made player hats with the event and date on them; - The top 3 finishers (of course, me 4th, as always just out of the cool prizes...at least I'm consistent) got SUPER SWEET custom made trophies and at least $50 in New Era gift cards, the top 2 finishers also got free tickets to a Sabres' game, and the winner (Al) got a custom made "champions" hat from New Era too!!!
So thanks again to Woj - helping keep the bubble alive and well in Buffalo! He also had some of us over Fri night at his house to bubble, helped run a GREAT event all day Saturday (while finishing 2nd I might add!), then soaked back some beers with Al and the NJ boys Saturday night (see the picture above). Great weekend for us. Thanks Woj and New Era!!! Bubble On, all!!! The next tourney is mine - Saturday April 18th, Burlington, NJ - more info coming soon...whos' got game?!?!?! Hope to see some of you from this weekend in NJ in April!!!

And Jeremy, another "out of towner" (Al - Boston, MA) did take the Buffalo title, and 2 others from NJ (me and Bill B.) finished in the top 4. 3 out of 4 from out of town, though Woj represented strong for Buffalo. And the Chexxfan rankings will be updated accordingly, with alot of emphasis on recent successes...let more controversy reign down...

Thanks JG, without great friends and bubblers like you it's just a bunch of plastic and metal. Thanks for making the trip to Buffalo bud. Woj

Hey Woj,
Thank you for helping with the New Era tournament. It was good to see the turn out of great talent. I was very fortunate to get out of the first round with a top notch player that I met. I had a great time. Your a true veteran player as well and had a great time Saturday night afterwards. It was definitely worth the trip!

Guys, I am reading alot about how to paint the players, what do you use to lube your ice surface, etc. All well and good. Anything to promote the game! Now it is time to play! Start making plans to get to Jersey or Buffalo. We need new blood to keep it going and you are it. Time to play...... ;D We should be doing this again next year. End of Feb 2010 Keep the date open and make it to Buffalo bubble! Looking for more out of town players.

The Jersey tourney is set - October 24th (Sat). Woj, any idea on a Buffalo date? And I have a guy down here in NJ who travels all the time to Buffalo and Toronto and he has some serious connections in lots of places - he was talking about maybe making the New Era event even bigger, maybe partnering with a local hotel or Dave and Busters. Send me an email or give me a call when you get a chance. Thanks bud! JG
