I had decided to refinish my Super Chexx. I only did the bottom half this year (it got to cold) so here's the beginning and i'll get the finished photos later ;D The base had a thousand little scratches at the bottom (really weird) and it even came with used gum lol. Typical knicks in it and dents in the speaker cover. s828.photobucket.com/home/br8kaway/index

What are you using to clean up the base? Looks like a fun project!

So here are the finished results. Hattrick1 i used soap and water to clean it first, sanded it, then i used a polymer to fill in the gouges and knicks, then i sanded it down with grit 80 sandpaper (i think i finished with a grit 400 to get it smooth) i sprayed it with brake cleaner before i painted it. I think there are 4 coats of paint on it and a few layers of clear coat. The coin doors i stripped the paint off them, tried to pull all the dents out, then gave them a nice crome finish. You'll notice i have two different colored coin reject buttons, if ANYONE who's reading this and you have a spare red one please get in touch with me!!! Its a bit of an eyesore having a yellow one. I still have to get some custom decals made at the print shop, i also have to finish the speaker covers, i was going to make them out of some 18gauge copper that i have (with the nordiques and flames logos on it) but i now think they should be made out of aluminium, which i'll probably get a shop with a cnc machine to make lol, i should have that done by the end of the month (at least the speaker covers) The amount of time it took me was totally worth it and i'm really pleased with the results. Its not perfect, but its a 100% improvement from what it did look like. s828.photobucket.com/albums/zz208/br8kaway/Finished%20super%20chexx%20base/
