Hi Y'all from Austin, Texas. Sold one of my pinballs in December and purchased a NIB Super Chexx. The family and I are absolutely loving it. It even motivated us to attend an Austin Ice Bats hockey game last night.
I am new to this message board and have read topics regarding painting players. However, I could not find reference to the type of paint that was used. Based on the posted pictures, it looks like glossy paint. Is it enamel or is it acrylic?
Another question that I have is removing the players. I tried to do this yesterday but must be using an incorrect technique. I pulled up on the players but could not get them to budge. I aborted because I thought I might break something. Any advice on removing the players?
Thanks in advance.

My post might be premature. I had better luck in the questions jump function than with the search function. I see that many use testors paint and some have used acrylics. I will give each of them a try. I also saw a post on how to remove the players. I used the technique of holding down the ice and then pulling up on the players. However, I could not get the players to budge. I am I just a girlie man or is there a better way to get the players to release from the gearbox?

Welcome to the board. As to your question of removing the players. It is difficult to do and somewhat intimidating when you attempt it for the first time because as you said, you are afraid to break something. I know I too was worried I would break something the first time I tried removing the players but the technique you found here on Chexxfan is correct. One hand on the ice surface around the players foot post and on hand pulling directly up on the player from the foot/leg area. You will need to pull pretty hard, especially since your game is new. You want it to be difficult to do otherwise the player will be loose in the gear and will raise up during play. Be sure you are pulling straight up and not on an angle. Good Luck.

i like tardy was scared to pull on the players like that until i saw them doing this at a tournament and figured it was right. my super chexx i bought new and it was very hard to pull them out, but pulling the goalie off is different. there is a pin in between his legs you'll have to pull out first. when my wife painted my players she used enamel paint and i haven't had any chipping yet
