Collars; Long, Short Question

I just picked up a rough Super Chexx I'm trying to bring back to life. Just about every rod collar is broken. It looks like each rod has 2 collars, one to hold the gearbox and the other to limit the action of the rod.

Per the manual, there are long collars and short collars. I looked at the track that supposedly uses long collars and I can't tell the difference between short ones.

My question is, does my game just have the wrong collars? On which rods and position (gearbox or limiter) do the long collars go?

I want to order more from ICE and try and save this thing, but I'm not sure on how many of each to order. I heard ICE isn't very helpful, but I'll email them as well. Thanks.

ICE was very nice and answered my question. The game consists of 14 short collars and 4 long. On my game I was right, the brainiacs used 2 short collars instead of 1 long hence my confusion.
