Hi,
I live in the NY Metro area and I am looking for a table for my two sons. It doesn't have to be prestine or pretty but does have to work (or be able to work with some minor repairs). My goal is to be able to make it nicer as I go along by replacing the parts that are in most need of attention, etc.... Clearly if I had a $1,000+ budget I wouldn't be posting this and would just move forward and start bidding on one located on e-bay.
I am willing to travel within a 5-6 hour range. Will pay cash and make the transaction smooth. I realize that it might take some time to find someone so disregard the date of the post. Thanks,
Mark

Ok, after doing a little bit of searching and finding some really crappy tables that have been beat on I am realizing that it might actually be cheaper to spend more upfront and get a reliable table vs. one that is under $1,000 and then by the time I am finished will end up spending more money as well as time fixing than playing.
If anyone can provide me with guidance on this I would greatly appreciate it. As an example there was a SC w/ coin box that was bought new and stayed in a residential game room for 10 years and in what was in real nice condition. It was $1,750 and was gone before I could get there to buy it.
Let me know if this is what I should expect to find again or if this was a great/marginal deal? Seems like you could buy a brand new one from Chexx for about $2,700 all in? Just looking for some guidelines....
Thanks,
Mark

not sure if you have seen this one on ebay in NY... www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Chexx-Coin-Operated-Free-Play-/170944998451?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27cd1dac33 guidelines are pretty much -making sure the gear boxes aren't too stripped (when they hit other players or even a slap shot, making sure the players stick has some resistance) - making sure the scoreboard works properly. Keeping scores correctly for both teams -making sure the iceburgs in the ice aren't broken, or that the small piece of ice behind each goal tender isn't broken. (also making sure the goalies move from side to side without a lot of resistance I'll keep looking for cheap games... this one i posted looks pretty descent and a very fair price if it doesn't get bid up
